Our Outings
At Cuddly Bear we understand and value the benefit of regular outings for our children. We want our children to understand the wider community, have special experiences and appreciate the natural world around them. Throughout the year we facilitate three different types of outings
Regular Outings
Our children go on regular outings to a wide variety of places that reflect our current learning, topics and themes. We visit the local parks for seasonal walks, walk to the post box to post a letter, visit the train station when we are learning about transport and go to the local museum.
Special Outings
We strive to make nursery a special place for our children, where they get to have experiences that they may not always get to have.
At Christmas we always go on a theatre trip to see a show so the children can experience the magic of the theatre and live performance.
During the warmer months we visit a local farm so the children can learn more about animals and the natural world.
Community Outings
At Cuddly Bear we want our children to understand the local community and our place in it.
We have excellent links with our local primary school St. Barts. We make weekly visits to the school playground so the preschool children can use the large scale play equipment, meet the teachers and become familiar with the school environment, ready for their transition to school.
We also have links to our local Elderly People’s Home. The children do a Christmas performance for the residents, bringing that bit of extra Christmas sparkle and cheer.
