Cuddly Bear Day Care

International Days of the World

At Cuddly Bear we see ourselves as a “Cultural Capital” where children are encouraged to explore the wider world around them. We love to incorporate “International Days of the World ” in our weekly provision to give the children an opportunity to learn more about other countries, languages, animals, cultures, professions and ways of life. A small example of these days are “Teachers Day”, “World Theatre Day”, “World Frog Day”, “Universal Music Day” and “Arabic Language Day”.

Birthdays

To celebrate your child’s birthday, our chefs build show stopping birthday ‘cakes’ made entirely out of fruit (provided by the parent or carer). Served to your child and the other children in their room after tea time, the children sing happy birthday and love to eat their special ‘cake’.
We make sure every birthday is a special one to remind the children that they are loved, remembered and important to us all in the nursery.

Cultures

At Cuddly Bear we promote a play based, inclusive, engaging and creative learning environment and our curriculum reflects the diverse and thriving community of children we have in our care.
We want to celebrate all children, staff and their cultures, languages and heritages which is why as a staff we always try and ensure we include as many celebrations as possible in our planning and provision.
We currently celebrate a wide range of cultural festivals including Black History Month, Christmas, Diwali, Lunar New Year and Easter.
We welcome family input and are always very grateful when children and families wish to share their culture and heritage with us. We want your child and family to feel like you really are part of the Cuddly Bear family so please let us know if there are special days or celebrations we can include.
